This is a part-time, grant supported position working with the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education. All benefits and employee procedures are included in the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education employee handbook.
- Primary Functions
Supporting the mission of community-wide youth substance abuse prevention initiatives in Kankakee and Iroquois counties, the Communication Specialist works with the I-KAN Regional Office of Education and the Pledge for Life Partnership coalition. Their work helps drive forward the coalition’s communication campaigns, social media and website management, graphic design and coalition marketing. Key tasks include daily maintenance of the Pledge for Life Partnership’s social media calendar and analytics, writing and managing distribution of press releases, and designing the coalition’s annual report.
III. General Requirements
- Bachelor Degree preferred
- Experience in graphic design
- Proven experience managing communication campaigns in various mediums
- Excellent social media marketing skills including creating high-impact social media graphics and marketing materials
- Web design skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and generate reports with attention to detail
- Proficient in software packages that may include Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs/Sheets, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytic abilities
- Must be a team player and collaborator
